Innovator Skills Initiative

Awesome Shit Club

Awesome Shit Club is a community effort, officially run by a collective of entrepreneurial-minded individuals with an appreciation for seeing awesome ideas turn into awesome products, experiences, events, and more! It is one of the many projects to come out of the Victoria – Ideas group. We’re basically a small grant-giving program, distributing +$500 per event, with no strings attached. If your awesome idea is selected as the judges’ favorite, you’ll leave with cash – it’s as simple as that.


Mitacs Accelerate

Put your talent to work with a paid internship at an organization that needs your expertise. Funding starts at $15,000, and your partner organization’s financial contribution starts at $7,500.


Canadian Financing Forum

The Canadian Financing Forum features presentations from approximately 35 of Canada’s most promising technology companies, as they showcase in front of top tier investors from across Canada and the United States. Focusing on both Information Technology and Sustainable Technology companies, the Forum matches North American corporate and venture capital investors with entrepreneurs on their way to building world-class technology companies.


Venture Capital Programs

Venture Capital Programs encourage investors to make equity capital investments in British Columbia small businesses that will enhance and diversify the provincial economy.

B.C. investors receive a 30% tax credit on their investment in a Venture Capital Corporation (VCC) or an Eligible Business Corporation (EBC).


NRC IRAP international collaboration

Financial support for technology innovation through NRC IRAP

If you're a small or medium-sized Canadian business pursuing technology-driven innovation, you may be eligible for financial support from NRC IRAP. We provide this funding to eligible firms under our technology innovation projects and youth employment strategy programs.

Medtech Canada is the national association representing Canada's innovative medical technology industry.

Canadian Intellectual Property Office

CIPO is a Special Operating Agency (SOA) and is responsible for the administration and processing of the greater part of intellectual property (IP) in Canada. CIPO's areas of activity include trademarks, patents, industrial designs and copyright. HyperGrowth

HyperGrowth invests in fearless entrepreneurs who are building extraordinary companies. As a second-stage revenue accelerator, we help growth-stage companies maximize their revenue, grow their teams, and build impactful businesses. Industry Innovation Program (I²)

The Industry Innovation Program (I²) provides commercialization support for companies developing innovative life science technologies in British Columbia (BC). Life sciences includes the biological aspects of industry challenges in the key economic sectors of Agrifood, Energy, Mining, Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Forestry, and Health.
